CNC Milling Machinist

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision machined components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job travelers.
• Select tooling, fixtures, and workholding necessary for each operation.
• Perform first-piece inspections and in-process quality checks.
• Hold close tolerances while maintaining excellent surface finishes.
• Make machine offsets and minor program adjustments as needed.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, indicators, bore gauges, and height gauges.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues to maximize efficiency and quality.
• Maintain equipment and keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all company quality procedures and safety requirements.
• Work closely with Quality Control and fellow machinists to ensure customer expectations are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of CNC milling setup and operating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Understanding of GD&T preferred.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds, and machining practices.
• Experience machining a variety of materials while holding tight tolerances.
• Familiarity with G-code and M-code is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
