Southeastern Louisiana University's Office of Technology invites applications for the position of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Southeastern Louisiana University. The Chief Information Officer reports directly to the University President and provides leadership in the strategic planning, development, implementation and integration of information systems, resources and services for the entire University. The CIO provides leadership for the Office of Technology, overseeing all technical and administrative staff in the division and serves as a member of the President’s Staff, working closely with the President and the Vice President for Administration and Finance as well as the other division heads. The CIO serves as an ex officio member of the University Technology Advisory Committee and works to integrate the institution’s technology plans with its overall strategic plan by managing resources to ensure the desired outcomes are realized. The CIO also provides oversight of the University Student Technology Fee, including the administration of the associated funds and Committee. Southeastern Louisiana University is a progressive regional, comprehensive university that enrolls approximately 14,000 graduate and undergraduate students. The University’s home, Hammond, is at the crossroads of Interstates 55 and 12 in the heart of Louisiana’s thriving Northshore. It is centrally located within an hour’s drive of New Orleans, Baton Rouge (the state capitol), and the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and affords extensive cultural, recreational, and research opportunities. The successful candidate must have a graduate or professional degree from an accredited college or university; an earned doctorate in a technology-related field is preferred. Either the undergraduate or advanced degree must be in a technology-related field. The successful candidate must have experience in managing technology in organizations (background in higher education preferred); outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to inspire and lead staff through collaborative working relations; commitment to promoting diversity and inclusiveness; and the ability to work collaboratively with campus constituents to achieve the goals of the university. The appointment is a 12-month position. The beginning date is negotiable; June 1, 2023 preferred. The salary is commensurate with background and experience. The search will continue until the position is filled.
