The Role
As a Lead Child Residential Care Specialist, you will oversee daily shift operations while remaining actively engaged with both staff and youth. This is a hands-on leadership position that balances team coordination, direct care, and program oversight.
You will play a key role in maintaining a structured, therapeutic environment aligned with our treatment philosophy .
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Leadership & Team Support
- Lead and support staff during assigned shifts
- Provide coaching, training, and accountability to ensure quality care
- Assist with scheduling and daily program coordination
- Ensure completion of documentation, incident reporting, and shift responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and support to adolescents (ages 12–17)
- Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention when needed
- Reinforce treatment goals and support social-emotional development
- Facilitate structured activities and group programming
- Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment
- Ensure adherence to daily routines, schedules, and expectations
- Oversee medication processes, documentation, and compliance
- Support coordination of care with the multidisciplinary treatment team
This role is best suited for someone who:
- Has hands-on experience working with adolescents with behavioral or emotional needs
- Are confident leading others while remaining approachable and supportive
- Can make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
- Understands the importance of consistency, boundaries, and relationship-building
- Is committed to professional standards, accountability, and quality care
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth (ages 12–17)
- Experience with behavioral health, trauma-informed care, substance use, or IDD
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred
- Valid driver’s license (required for client transportation)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
This is an active, fast-paced residential setting. The role requires:
- The ability to respond effectively during crisis situations
- Physical stamina (standing, walking, outdoor activities)
- Comfort working with youth who may display challenging behaviors
