HVAC LEAD TECHNICIAN /TRAINER

Southeastern Facility Maintenance (SEFM), a family-owned company built on trust and growth, is seeking a HVAC LEAD TECHNICIAN /TRAINER Commercial with a minimum of 5 years of proven experience leading a team in the commercial HVAC industry.
This individual will serve as both a hands-on technician, expert and a team leader, executing all HVAC service calls across Florida’s key markets—ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and company expectations.

You’ll lead teams in the field, mentor and train technicians, and take ownership of installations, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance to keep our clients’ businesses running smoothly. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor a team of HVAC technicians on commercial service, installation, and preventative maintenance.
- Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure quality control on all HVAC jobs.
- Train technicians in troubleshooting, technical skills, and safety practices.
Installation & Upgrades
- Install new commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units and splits.
- Oversee system upgrades and replacements, ensuring energy-efficient and client-focused solutions.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform and supervise regular inspections, cleaning, calibrations, and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and system issues.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts using advanced diagnostic tools.
Service & Compliance
- Serve as the lead on-site contact, providing professional communication and service recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, environmental regulations, and local codes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and service logs, verifying team records for accuracy.
On-Call & Emergency Response
- Participate in the emergency on-call rotation, providing leadership during urgent service calls.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role or similar experience.
- Proven track record of supervising and mentoring HVAC teams.
- EPA 608 Universal Certification.
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and diagnostics.
- Own tools to perform standard job requirements.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Preferred
- NATE certification or equivalent.
- OSHA 10/30 certification.
- Familiarity with job management software and digital service reporting.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and operate tools/equipment.
- Comfortable working at heights, climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
