- Associate degree in Automotive Systems Technology or a closely related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
- Five years of recent, relevant work experience in automotive service, repair, diagnostics, or related automotive systems.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) in one or more areas (or ability to obtain within one year of hire).
- Demonstrated proficiency with automotive tools, equipment, diagnostic technology, and safety practices.
- Ability to plan and deliver hands-on instruction in both classroom and lab/shop settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and support students.
- Ability to maintain required documentation, records, and reports with accuracy.
- Commitment to safety, professionalism, and teaching excellence.
- Ability to perform the physical duties required in an automotive lab, including standing for extended periods, lifting moderate weight, and operating equipment.
