Position Overview
We are hiring a Project Coordinator / Assistant Project Manager to support and manage commercial construction projects from award through closeout. You will work directly with ownership and be involved in:
- Project coordination
- Scheduling
- Submittals and material orders
- Communication with general contractors
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track multiple commercial projects
- Review construction drawings, plans, and specifications
- Manage submittals, approvals, and material procurement
- Communicate with general contractors, superintendents, and vendors
- Schedule field measurements, deliveries, and installations
- Track project timelines and follow up on open items
- Maintain organized project files and documentation
- Assist with punch lists and project closeout
- Travel, after hours work and weekend work may be required
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Detail-oriented and reliable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
- Must be able to successfully pass a background screening in compliance with the Jessica Lunsford Act (Level 2 background check required for work in school environments)
Preferred:
- A BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field is the minimum formal education required for this position. A combination of equivalent work experience and training in the field may be qualifying.
- Two (2) or more years work experience in the construction industry or equivalent experience preferred.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, etc.) required.
- CPR, First Aid, and OSHA 30-hour Certifications required. Training can/will be provided.
- Experience in construction, project coordination, or subcontractor environment
- Ability to read construction drawings or willingness to learn
- Experience working with general contractors or jobsite teams
Compensation
- $50,000 – $70,000 salary (based on experience)
- Performance-based quarterly bonus opportunities
- Paid time off (2 weeks / year after 6 months)
