Job Summary
The Southeast Valley Community School District is seeking a dependable, energetic, and team-oriented Food Service Cook to join our Nutrition Services Department. This position plays a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals to our students while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment.
Position Details
- Position: Food Service Cook
- Location: Southeast Valley Middle School (Burnside)
- Schedule: School-year position; hours to be determined
- Compensation: Based on district salary schedule and experience
Essential Duties
- Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch items according to district menus and nutrition guidelines.
- Assist with food preparation, serving, and cleanup.
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Receive and store food and supplies.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and school personnel.
- Maintain accurate production and inventory records.
- Provide excellent customer service to students and staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Food service, restaurant, school nutrition, or related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
