The Director of Coaching will report to the Club Director and the Board of Directors.
Job Overview
The Director of Coaching (DOC) runs the day-to-day coach operations of Southeast Soccer Club (SES). The position assists the Club Director with strategic planning, and is charged with coach management, coach evaluation, and team formation. The position is also responsible for creating and implementing the coach development and coach education aspects of the club and oversees the player development programs. The successful DOC will be a public figure, one that activates the Minneapolis soccer community with the mission, vision, and values of Southeast Soccer Club.
Responsibilities and Duties (included but not limited to)
Essential:
- Develop calendar for training and games in conjunction with Club Director and Club Coordinator. Assist program coordinator in developing program calendar for full year.
- Coach recruitment, on-boarding, training, and development
- Attend practices and games for each team to provide assistance, feedback and advice
- Community and school outreach
- Program development
- Team creation and formation
- Player and team observation and assessment
- Player, coach, manager recruitment
- Post-season team meetings
Secondary (in collaboration with Club Director and Club Coordinator):
- Equipment management
- Strategic planning in coordination with Club Director
- Represent SES to the soccer community to advance SES's reputation and standing
- Run SES day-to-day soccer operations
- Family/stakeholder communication
- Other duties as assigned

- Proven ability to recruit, educate and retain coaches and players.
- Skilled leader with an inclusive leadership style.
- Ability to think and plan strategically and practically to convert visions into reality.
- Ability to work with travel, recreational, and volunteer coaches and programs.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
