Store Manager

The Store Manager leads all facets of store operations — from building and developing a high-performing team to managing profit and loss, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining full compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Through strong leadership and operational excellence, the Store Manager upholds industry and brand standards while driving consistent business results.

• Cash & POS Operations: Operate the cash register and point-of-sale (POS) systems daily, ensuring accurate transactions, proper cash handling, end-of-shift reconciliation, and adherence to company cash control procedures.
• Team Training & Development: Train, coach, and evaluate cashiers and customer service associates on POS use, fuel sales, age-restricted product compliance (tobacco, alcohol, lottery), upselling techniques, and delivering a friendly, professional customer experience.
• Customer Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding fuel quality, store cleanliness, pricing discrepancies, product availability, or service concerns—escalating to the District Manager when appropriate.
• Vendor & Delivery Management: Schedule and receive deliveries of fuel, food, beverages, and merchandise; verify product quality, quantity, pricing, and invoices against orders, and ensure proper stock rotation and storage.
• Financial Oversight: Monitor store budgets, payroll records, daily sales reports, fuel margins, and inventory variances; review financial transactions to ensure expenditures are authorized, within budget, and aligned with company profitability goals.
• Scheduling & Staffing: Build employee schedules to ensure 24/7 shift coverage, assign daily duties (register, stocking, cleaning, fuel island maintenance), and adjust staffing based on traffic patterns, holidays, and peak demand.
• Performance & Service Standards: Establish and enforce performance standards for store associates, including customer service expectations, store cleanliness, safety compliance, loss prevention, and adherence to brand and operational standards.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages all employees of the store and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that store.

Work Environment

This job operates in a convenience store environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines as well as Point of Sale (POS) system.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work vary depending on the need of the store. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Required Education and Experience

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

· At least three years’ management experience in a retail environment.

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Email.
