Commercial Construction Estimator / Sales
Southeast Partitions is seeking a Commercial Construction Estimator / Salesperson to join our growing team. This position will work with general contractors, architects, manufacturers, and our internal project management and operations teams to identify opportunities, prepare accurate estimates, submit proposals, and help develop projects from bid through award.
Experience with operable partitions is not required. We are looking for someone who understands commercial construction, is comfortable reading architectural plans and specifications, has strong attention to detail, and is willing to learn our products and estimating process.
Responsibilities include:
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, addenda, and bid documents
- Perform material and labor takeoffs
- Identify project scope, exclusions, alternates, and potential issues
- Obtain and coordinate manufacturer/vendor pricing
- Prepare accurate estimates and professional proposals
- Track bid opportunities and meet bid deadlines
- Communicate with general contractors regarding project requirements, pricing, and scope
- Follow up on submitted proposals and develop customer relationships
- Review awarded projects with Project Management and Operations for a clean turnover
- Maintain accurate estimating and sales records
- Assist with developing new customers and sales opportunities
- Work closely with the Sales Manager and other departments throughout the bidding process
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in commercial construction estimating, project management, or construction sales
- Ability to read and understand architectural plans and specifications
- Strong math, computer, written, and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Comfortable communicating with contractors, architects, vendors, and customers
- Experience with Bluebeam, Excel, estimating software, or similar programs is a plus
- Experience with architectural specialties, Division 8/10/11/12 products, doors and hardware, toilet partitions, casework/millwork, glazing, overhead doors, or other specialty subcontracting is a plus
We are willing to train the right candidate on our specific products and estimating systems. Commercial construction knowledge, attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to learn are more important than previous experience with our particular product line.
Compensation: $60,000–$90,000 annual base salary, depending on experience, with additional performance-based compensation opportunity.
Position: Full-time, in-office
