The Physician Liaison serves as a key representative of Southeast Orthopedic Specialists within the medical community. Position Summary
The Physician Liaison serves as a key representative of Southeast Orthopedic Specialists within the medical community. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with referring providers, healthcare organizations, and community partners to increase brand awareness, strengthen referral networks, and support patient growth initiatives. The Physician Liaison works closely with physicians, clinic leadership, marketing, and operational teams to promote organizational services and ensure a seamless referral experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with physicians, medical practices, hospitals, and community partners within the assigned territory.
- Conduct in-person visits with a minimum of 50–60 referral accounts per week to promote services and strengthen referral relationships.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to increase community engagement, physician awareness, and patient referrals.
- Maintain and update physician referral programs, referral tracking systems, and CRM databases.
- Collaborate with Senior Leadership and Operations ensure efficient scheduling and management of referred patients.
- Plan and execute physician outreach initiatives, educational programs, and community events with internal providers.
- Support physician lecture programs and community education efforts.
- Work collaboratively with Senior Leadership, Communications, Operations, and Clinic Leadership to execute strategic growth initiatives.
- Monitor referral trends and identify opportunities to strengthen referral relationships.
- Manage assigned physician relations and marketing activities within established budget guidelines.
- Represent the organization professionally at networking events, meetings, and community functions.
- Meet or exceed physician relations, departmental, and organizational goals.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in healthcare marketing, physician relations, business development, communications, or a related field.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with physicians, patients, payers, and community partners.
- Knowledge of marketing, communications, and public relations principles.
- Familiarity with healthcare services, orthopedic care, physical therapy, and related specialties preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce, CRM platforms, electronic medical records, or similar systems preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Frequent local travel throughout the assigned territory.
- Primarily field-based position with regular visits to physician offices, hospitals, and healthcare facilities.
- Occasional attendance at community events, meetings, and networking functions.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, drive, and use a computer throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and transport marketing materials and event supplies as needed.
