Duties
- Locate utilities using a locator, and work with GPS systems to incorporate mapping
- Assist with the excavation, trenching, backfilling, and compaction of underground utility lines using hand tools and machinery under supervision.
- Load and unload materials, equipment, and supplies needed for utility installation projects.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a secure work environment.
- Support crew members by preparing work sites, setting up barricades, and maintaining clear communication during operations.
- Help inspect work areas for hazards or issues that could impact project quality or safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and daily progress reports.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to meet project deadlines and uphold high-quality standards.
Experience
- Prior experience in construction or utility work is preferred but not mandatory; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment used in utility installation is a plus.
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Willingness to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety guidelines at all times.
