Temporary Event Assistant
Show Me Center
Part-Time, Variable Shifts
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and coordination of Show Me Center events
- Support the Director of Events with administrative tasks
- Provide communication and customer service at a consistently excellent level to event coordinators
- Management of event materials and equpiment
- Help with event layouts and drawings
- Assist the Marketing Director with developing event marketing materials
- Promote events across internal and external platforms
- Communication with vendors, sponsors and community partners
- On-site support during events, including addressing guest issues as they arise
- Recruitment, training and supervision of temp and student employees
- Operate technical equipment such as video, sound and lights
- Oversee meeting room events
- Maintain documentation for each event
- Attend community outreach events to promote upcoming Show Me Center events
Required Qualifications
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule; including weekends, evenings and early mornings
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
- Knowledge of and intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a diverse range of people
- Strong organizational skills, time management and and high attention to detail
- Strong understanding of event marketing
- Leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of video, audio and lighting equipment use
