Primary Responsibilities
- Provide individual career coaching and assistance to students and alumni on career-related topics including career planning, resume and cover letter preparation, networking, interviewing, internships/job search strategies, and utilization of online career resources
- Assist students by referring internally to college support services and externally to community resources as appropriate
- Promote and utilize online career management tools to assist students with internship and job search opportunities
- Research and keep current with employment trends, knowledge of the job market, salary data, and best practices for career services through participation in regional and national career organizations
- Collaborate with career services staff to provide programs, workshops, classroom presentations, career expos, or other career-related events
- Contribute to the development of career resource materials
- Contribute to website content development
- Develop ongoing relationships with faculty, staff and administration to encourage full utilization of career services
- Assist with employer engagement and experiential learning initiatives
- Provide support for annual projects and reports, as needed
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of career development, recruiting and job search processes
- Evidence of strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience working as part of a team in a collaborative work environment
- Evidence of the ability to exercise sound judgment
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software systems and programs
- Ability to work flexible hours including some evening and weekend hours consistent with student needs
