Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team at Southeast Middle School as a Full-Time Educational Support Professional (ESP). This role is essential in providing academic and emotional support to middle school students, fostering a positive learning environment, and collaborating with teachers and staff to enhance student success. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting student engagement and well-being, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities, ensuring that students are engaged and supported in their learning.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who may require additional assistance, including those with diverse learning needs.
• Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their academic and social goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other staff to create and maintain an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Assist in the preparation and organization of instructional materials and resources.
• Help manage classroom behavior and implement positive behavior interventions to promote a respectful and productive learning atmosphere.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to supporting middle school students.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, fostering strong relationships that support student growth and development.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the school administration to support the overall mission and goals of Southeast Middle School.

Requirements

• Educational Aide Permit from Ohio Department of Education and Workforce
• Previous experience working with middle school students or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Knowledge of diverse learning styles and strategies to support students with varying needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative and independence.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to support student learning.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and equitable learning environment for all students.
• Certification or training in first aid and CPR is a plus.
