Role Description The Aquatic Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in South Florida, Tampa, Orlando or Naples/Ft. Myers responsible for field-based maintenance and monitoring of lakes, ponds, and natural preserves. Day-to-day tasks include applying aquatic treatments under supervision, inspecting and maintaining fountains and aeration systems, and assisting with shoreline stabilization and vegetation control. The role involves collecting water samples, performing basic water quality tests, and documenting site conditions through photos and service reports. The Aquatic Technician will operate company vehicles and equipment safely, follow environmental and regulatory guidelines, and communicate observations and service needs to supervisors and property representatives. This position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and collaborating with team members to deliver consistent, high-quality environmental services.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform outdoor field work, including walking shorelines, operating small boats, and handling tools and equipment safely.
- Basic understanding of aquatic systems, water quality, and vegetation management or a strong interest in learning these concepts.
- Experience or training in environmental services, landscaping, grounds maintenance, or related field work is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate data collection, site inspections, and completion of service reports.
- Reliable time management skills to follow service schedules and complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with team members, supervisors, and property representatives.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel between client sites in the Orlando area.
- Comfort with following safety protocols, chemical handling guidelines, and applicable environmental regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or certification in environmental science, biology, natural resources, or a related field is a plus.
