The Crisis Intervention Specialist delivers crisis intervention and behavioral health services to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises. Key responsibilities include conducting mental health evaluations, providing crisis counseling, completing hospital pre-screenings, connecting clients to agency and community resources, and utilizing de-escalation techniques to promote safety and stabilization. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and prioritize client needs and available resources.
- Provide timely and appropriate clinical interventions.
- Conduct hospital pre-screening assessment services.
- Act as a liaison with other agencies and maintain knowledge of community resources to meet client needs.
- Assist in addressing consultation and education needs within the service area.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities to ensure accessibility of crisis intervention mental health services.
- Prepare and maintain accurate, timely clinical records.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or associate degree required.
- Mental health licensure is strongly preferred (LPC/LSW).
- Experience in crisis intervention or behavioral health preferred.
- Strong communication, de-escalation, and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced or high-stress environments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the community.
