What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Companion, Flex Team, Part Time, Brunswick position at Southeast Georgia Health System Inc / SGHS?
Maintains a safe and orderly patient environment while providing 1:1 observance of patient behavior. Provides proper intervention for patient comfort, safety, and satisfaction.
Obtains verbal report to include information regarding the patient’s care needs such as: visual, auditory, language barriers, any special consideration (to include NPO and bed alarms), as well as ambulation.
Positions self in patient room to maintain constant visual observation of the patient. Does not leave the patient alone or out of sight unless specifically instructed by the nurse.
Reports patient activity and behavior on a regular basis to the nurse.
Communicates in a professional manner and demonstrates respect for patient, families/significant other and other healthcare team members.
Offers support and feedback to peers and staff as needed in a professional manner. Applies principles of caring in interactions with patients, families, and team members. Functions cooperatively as a team member.
Able to be flexible to the units needs for change.
