READ Program Manager (Summer 2026)

Reports to: Chief of Strategic Initiatives

Location: Delcroft School

Salary: $35/hour

Schedule: The program will run from June 29, 2026 - July 30, 2026. Teachers & Teen Leaders hours are 8:15am to 11:30pm. Program Manager hours are 8:15am to 12:45pm.

Position Requirements:

• Must hold active PA Teaching Certification
• Demonstrated ability to work with both early childhood and high school students in a structured, individualized one-to-one tutoring setting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Attend READ Teacher workshop (4 hour training) prior to program starting.
• Help organize program according to READ specifications, including pre-program site setup and closing of the program.
• Maintain ongoing communication with READ Program Managers and Southeast Delco School District administrators.
• Establish a strong working relationship with high school tutors and monitor their performance.
• Takes & maintains accurate attendance for High School Teen Leaders.
• Help complete an dinput READ Attendance Reports and Class Data Records through web-based database.
• Notify school administration and READ contact in case of absence and ensure substitute covrage.
• Adhere to the READ curriculum and the program polices and procedures.
• Provide general oversight of the tutoring room and modeling of correct procedures, including: ensuring correct implementation of Reading for All Learners Program; monitor student progress and ensure accurate student placement in the curriculum; analyze student progress data and take appropriate action in consultation with READ staff; maintain a positive learning environment for both students and tutors; ensure accurate collection of data by tutors and review student datasheets on a daily basis.
• Welcome visiting parents and other READ guests.
• Implement group literacy activities as appropriate.
