Job Title: Saw Operator
Roles / Objectives:
- Sets up and operates machines such as drill presses, punch presses, saws, shears, bending rolls, brakes, grinders, and numerical control equipment to shape and alter sheet metal according to specifications.
- Follows blueprints, rough sketches, or engineer drawings to shape metal accurately.
- Uses hand and power tools to shape, cut, and smooth metal and to blend seams.
- May set up and operate soldering and welding equipment.
Competencies:
- Typically requires a high school diploma.
- 0–3 years of experience
- Forklift experience
- Ability to operate an industrial saw
- Experience cutting pipe from 12”–144”
- Ability to learn different gauges from 16ga–8ga
- Ability to learn different coatings (galvanized, aluminized T2, polymer)
- Ability to learn different kinds of pipe (standard, 5X1, maxflow)
