Are you a highly proactive, organized, and friendly individual with a passion for providing exceptional patient care? Southeast Connecticut Eye Care LLC is looking for two dedicated individuals to join our team as a Front Desk/Administrative Assistant—one for a full-time position and one for a part-time role.
The Front Desk/Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in the smooth and efficient operation of our ophthalmology practice. This position requires a highly proactive, timely, organized, efficient, friendly, helpful, and patient-focused individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This individual is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients while ensuring accurate and timely administrative support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Patient Greeting and Registration
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Register new patients, collecting necessary medical information and paperwork.
- Verify insurance eligibility and confirm insurance referrals are received.
- Collect co-pays, outstanding balances, and process mail payments accurately.
-Appointment Management
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments efficiently and effectively.
- Manage appointment schedules to minimize wait times and optimize patient flow.
-Phone Management
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally.
- Handle inquiries, schedule appointments, and take accurate messages.
- Provide basic medical information to patients when appropriate.
-Administrative Support
- Prepare patient charts for upcoming appointments.
- Manage faxing and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Ensure smooth patient flow within the office.
-Teamwork
- Assist in training new employees as needed.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective office operations.
Travel
- Travel to satellite offices on a monthly basis to assist with front desk operations.
Maintain a Clean & Organized Work Environment
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Some college coursework or a degree in a relevant field ( healthcare administration, business) is a plus.
Experience
- 2 years of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Libre software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive and professional demeanor.
