What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Loan Advisor (70779) position at SOUTHEAST BANK?
WORK AVAILABILITY:
Monday - Thursday; 8am - 8pm; Friday 8am - 5pm, with one late shift per week 11am - 8pm and one Saturday; 10am - 4pm per month rotation.
BASIC FUNCTION:
As a Student Loan Advisor II, you will work directly with our clients providing personalized service as their dedicated point of contact. This includes providing updates through phone, email, and text, on the status of their applications as well as processing documentation that they provide for verification purposes. You will work in tandem with out Student Loan Specialists and Underwriters to ensure that the client experience is seamless and efficient.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate with a pipeline of clients at various stages of application via phone, email, and/or text to gather documentation required to make appropriate lending decisions.
- Present loan options to clients, explain credit decisions, and help them determine the best structure to refinance their student loan debt.
- Monitor applications to ensure that file is up-to-date and accurate.
- Work with underwriting to resolve discrepancies in documentation and seek clarification from clients.
- Maintain accurate records of correspondence or discussions with clients.
- Assist senior team members with sales and service administration tasks.
- Actively participate and communicate in team-based work groups.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND TRAINING:
- Self-motivated and able to work independently applying analytical skills required to manage an assigned pipeline of clients.
- Demonstrated Leadership skills.
- Experience with Salesforce and loan origination platforms preferred.
- Ability to provide clear and concise feedback.
WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Lift 10-20lbs periodically
- Periodic travel
REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS Degree in Business or related field and 3-4 years’ experience in loan processing, underwriting, or bank lending preferred, or associate degree in a business/accounting concentration with 5-6 years’ experience in loan processing, underwriting, or bank lending.
