Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Career Planner to support individuals in achieving their employment and personal development goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in workforce development, social work, and mentoring, with a focus on assisting diverse populations including those with developmental disabilities and autism. This role involves guiding clients through career exploration, skill-building, and job placement processes to foster independence and success.
Duties
- Develop personalized employment plans tailored to each client’s strengths, interests, and needs.
- Provide counseling and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or other special needs to enhance their employment prospects.
- Assist clients in understanding employment & labor laws relevant to their career goals.
- Conduct interviews to assess skills, interests, and barriers to employment.
- Facilitate training & development sessions aimed at improving job readiness and soft skills.
- Mentor clients throughout their job search, onboarding, and retention phases.
- Collaborate with employers, community organizations, and service providers for effective workforce development initiatives.
- Recruit suitable candidates for various employment opportunities through outreach and networking efforts.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and program activities in compliance with organizational policies.
- Stay informed about best practices in addiction counseling, social work, and employment services to provide comprehensive support.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of employment & labor law and workforce development strategies.
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities and autism.
- Background in addiction counseling, social work, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Excellent interviewing, mentoring, recruiting, and training & development abilities.
- Effective communication skills to engage diverse populations and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Compassionate approach with the ability to motivate and empower clients toward independence.
- Organizational skills for managing multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt strategies based on individual client needs and changing circumstances.
