Overview
For over 30 years, the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center (CAC) has provided leadership in the response to child abuse and improved the lives of child victims and their families across the Wiregrass region. The CAC delivers coordinated intervention, forensic, advocacy, and therapeutic services; equips partner agencies with training; and ensures a trauma-informed, child-centered approach. The CAC seeks an Executive Director to work with the Board of Directors, multidisciplinary team partners, staff, and community stakeholders to strengthen relationships, expand services, and grow sustainable funding.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of the Southeast Alabama CAC. The Executive Director serves as the primary ambassador for the organization, ensures compliance with state and national standards, and promotes a strong multidisciplinary approach to child abuse response.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Executive Leadership: Reinforce and communicate the CAC’s mission, represent the agency to partners and funders, and provide transparent, mission-driven leadership.
Staff Leadership & Organizational Culture: Lead and support staff, promote an inclusive and healthy work culture, ensure training and supervision, and model resilience and work–life balance.
Strategic Oversight & Program Development: Ensure all CAC programs are collaborative, compliant, and effective; evaluate opportunities to expand services; and maintain best practices and standards.
Financial Management: Direct the organization’s financial strategy; oversee budgets, grant writing, and reporting; and support diversified and sustainable funding.
Community Engagement & Fundraising: Serve as a credible ambassador, engage donors and partners, oversee campaigns and events, and cultivate meaningful community relationships.
Multidisciplinary Team & Partner Relations: Maintain strong collaboration with law enforcement, DHR, prosecution, and medical and mental health partners.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, compassionate, and collaborative leader with strong management and communication skills and a trauma-informed approach to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
- 10–15 years of professional experience, including 5 years in a significant leadership role.
- Experience in child welfare, victim services, social services, or related fields preferred.
- Demonstrated success in grant writing and grant management.
- Strong financial management experience.
- Proven ability to build community and partner relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Finalists must pass a criminal background check, child abuse/neglect registry check, and any other checks required under Alabama law or CAC policies.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
