What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Supervisor-Alden Court Nursing & Rehab Center position at Southcoast Long Term Care Services?
FT Salary 32-40 hours weekly
Job Summary: Supervises correspondence, inpatient and outpatient filing, birth certificate and computerized medical record system clerical sections. Performs all of the normal supervisory responsibilities of hiring, training, coaching and evaluating employees. Performs other department functions as assigned.
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas: |
Hires staff members for any openings in department. |
Performs 90-day and annual evaluations on staff under his/her supervision 30 days prior to anniversary date of hire. |
Trains, orients and inservices on department processes, within 30 days of employment, all new employees. |
Has working knowledge of the electronic health record system. |
Evaluates and monitors procedures to minimize delay in medical record retrieval. |
Ensures timely record availability by performing quality review of medical record locator on a regular basis. |
Ensures the filing of loose reports for discharged inpatient and outpatient surgery patients within 72 hours of receipt. |
Responds promptly and investigates thoroughly any lost report or hard to find medical record. |
Oversees that the file area is kept in a neat and orderly manner in the department as well as storage area. |
Maintains log for medical records sent to storage. |
Ensures prompt receipt and proper processing of any medical record request to the department by performing quality review on medical records requests periodically. |
Deals with a wide variety of personalities in a professional and tactful manner. |
Ensures the proper use of office equipment; makes recommendations for maintenance and/or replacement. |
Communicates regularly with the Director of Nursing regarding any problems, issues or concerns in his/her sections. |
Displays a willingness to support the policies and procedures of the facility and department. |
Observes confidentiality and safeguards all patient-related information. |
Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality. |
Salary : $52,000 - $58,000
