What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Aide position at Southcoast Long Term Care Services?
Job Summary: Monitors laundering machines to clean articles such as sheets, towels, rags, wiping cloths and filter cloths by performing the following duties. Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities.
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas: |
Wears personal protective wear when handling and sorting all soiled linens. |
Sorts all soiled linens and loads washers to capacity requirement of 3-4 inches from the top of the washer basket. |
Selects proper cycle specific to linens being washed, starts machine. |
Lifts clean articles from completed washers and places on appropriate cycles for drying |
Folds and places items in appropriate carts following quantities established. |
Follow proper procedures on the cleaning and disinfecting of equipment, folding tables, and bins. |
Able to read and understand equipment operation manuals. |
Performs all aspects of duties and responsibilities in a manner that optimizes patient safety. |
Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality. |
Able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. |
Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. |
