What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Order Selector position at Southco Distributing Company?
Warehouse order selectors pull products, apply pricing stickers (when applicable) and place them in resealable totes (when applicable) that are ordered by our customers and send those orders to a loading area in the warehouse to be shipped later that night. Each order selector is trained to use scanning devices to expedite the pulling process. Once the order selector completes an order, the process is repeated until the entire work load is completed for that day. The pace is extremely busy; but very rewarding.
Compensation: Starting pay is $15.50 per hour during the 45 day training period. Once the training period has ended, all warehouse order selectors have the potential to earn significantly more based on the number of items selected per hour (production pay scale) by each individual employee. In addition to the production pull rates, each order selector can easily earn a “bonus pay” that can add as much as $2.00 per hour to your hourly production pay.
We have six different work zones----each one with different requirements and earning potential.
All customer orders are shipped next day which requires order selectors to stay each night until the last order is completed. We have to finish all orders because the delivery trucks leave later that night.
Our warehouse is a fast-paced, temperature controlled environment that ships orders to our customers Monday through Friday to convenience stores located in five different states.
