The Safety-Care Coordinator oversees the district-wide administration and compliance of Safety-Care training. This includes maintaining training records, coordinating classes with certified trainers, monitoring staff certification status by school, verifying accurate entry of training information, following up on expired or upcoming certifications, and monitoring applicable training restrictions.
1. Maintain Safety-Care Records
- Keeps organized files and records for all Safety-Care trainers and trained staff.
- Maintains training dates, expiration dates, certifications, and other required documentation.
- Ensures records are accurate and accessible when needed.
2. Coordinate Safety-Care Classes
- Works with all Safety-Care trainers to schedule classes throughout the year.
- Ensures each class is properly scheduled and assigned to the appropriate trainer.
- Advise trainers on how to communicate with staff regarding upcoming class information.
3. Monitor Staff Training by School
- Pulls staff rosters for each school/building.
- Reviews which employees are required to have Safety-Care training.
- Checks each staff member's training status.
- Identifies staff whose certification is expired or approaching expiration.
- Communicates with schools/trainers about staff who need to attend upcoming classes.
4. Review Training Entries
- Checks that completed Safety-Care classes were entered correctly.
- Verifies that the correct staff were recorded as attending.
- Checks dates, trainers, certification information, and other required information for accuracy.
- Corrects or follows up on discrepancies.
5. Monitor Compliance
- Regularly reviews staff records to make sure required personnel are current with Safety-Care training.
- Creates or maintains tracking systems/spreadsheets to monitor compliance.
- Follows up with administrators or trainers when staff are overdue.
6. Monitor Restrictions
- Keeps track of any training or practice restrictions that apply to staff or trainers.
- Ensures individuals are not participating in Safety-Care procedures beyond what their current training/certification allows by reminding trainers about their staff.
- Communicates restrictions to the appropriate personnel when necessary.
