ABOUT Hermosa

Hermosa, located approximately 75 miles south-east of Tucson, Arizona, is the only advanced mining project in the United States as of 2023 that could produce two federally designated critical minerals—manganese and zinc—as well as silver and lead. The project has the potential to help power the nation’s clean energy future, strengthen the domestic supply chain of critical minerals, grow the local economy, and improve lives in Santa Cruz County and the surrounding community for generations to come.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Principal, Reward and Benefits you will be responsible for oversight, improvement, and governance of the Reward and Benefits Framework for the North and South America region. In support of this, you will manage the salary structures, allowances, and competitive pay practices offerings as well as all employee benefits within the region, except for pensions and employee insurances. This position is key to the maintenance and delivery of a Reward and Benefits Framework that provides South32 a competitive advantage in attracting and retaining employees in this region. This includes working closely with the Manager, Human Resources Hermosa and the Hermosa Human Resources team to deliver reward support, including annual performance and salary review, job evaluation, general reward support on benefits and equity plans, and ad hoc reward projects. This role is based in the Tucson office.


Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage the Reward and Benefits Framework for North and South America, including ensuring it remains competitive and is delivered in each location accurately and efficiently;

• Provide effective support to HR Business Partners and Line Leaders on all reward outcomes;• Innovate and improve our Reward and Benefits offering, and ensure it remains in compliance with local legislation;

• Support South32’s job evaluation approach, including job grading and governance;

• Support cyclical activities as required, including Annual Reward Review and Share Plan vesting events;

• Support the pay equity initiatives in South32 and the governing principles and analysis of pay equity

• Manage the documentation suite that governs reward for below Lead Team roles within the Americas region

• Play a key stakeholder in leading Reward and Benefits activities in location for the effective delivery and implementation of the Hermosa Reward & Benefits Framework;

• Complete Reward projects as required, including oversight of the reward aspects for divestments and acquisitions; and

• Work with HR colleagues to support underlying processes for reward and benefits are effective.


ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor's degree, Human Resources or related disciplines or equivalent education and experience.

• 5 years Remuneration and benefits experience ideally in multiple countries

• Experience in Total Reward Project Management

• Experience managing programs across diverse and complex stakeholder groups at all levels of an organization and managing 3rd party relationships;

• Strong influencing, internal consulting, and change management capability;

• Strong numerical reasoning and analytical skills
