Mission Statement

South Valley WRF is tasked with treating wastewater 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The water discharged from this facility must be of a quality to meet the requirements of our NPDES permit. This position fulfills the important task of transporting biosolids, as needed, to other locations to complete treatment or to final disposal.

Position Summary

Perform duties related to transporting excess biosolids which have been wasted from the process to designated disposal sites.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Operate Class A truck and trailer equipment to haul dewatered sludge to designated disposal sites including;
  • Inspect tractor and trailer before and after each trip, and record defects found.
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws.
  • Keep their truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.
  • Report any requirements for maintenance and repairs including serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
  • Complete assigned operations in accordance with state and federal regulations, and SVWRF policies and procedures
  • Keep department records and files current, accurate, and complete
  • Provide support to facility personnel
  • Train to operate solids equipment and other processes at the Facility
  • Attend meetings and training seminars as assigned
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Direction & Authority

Reports directly to the facility Operations Supervisor. Does not supervise or direct the activities of other personnel

Scope of Responsibility

Perform essential responsibilities and assigned projects efficiently and in a professional manner. Keep assigned work areas clean and professional in appearance. Wear appropriate work attire, uniforms and safety equipment as directed. Protect, care for, and maintain SVWRF property and assets. Interact with SVWRF personnel, customers and business related contacts in a friendly, helpful manner. Participate as a team member in discussions, meetings, and projects as assigned. Communicate job activities to General Manager, Supervisor(s) and to Director(s) as required.

Licensing / Certification

Experience

  • Current CDL (Class A)
  • Completed SVWRF training and certification
  • Minimum four years driving experience (preferred).

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Additional Qualifications

  • Must pass a standard D.O.T. physical and keep current medical card.
  • Knowledge of truck and equipment safety.
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe responsible manner.
  • Must pass drug test

Pay: $25.31 - $27.65 per hour
