Job Duties:
Provide comprehensive orthopedic patient care under the supervision of a physician
Perform and document physical examinations and obtain medical histories
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory work and imaging studies
Develop and implement treatment plans
Administer medications, including injections, as directed by a physician
Perform minor office procedures, such as suturing and wound care
Provide pain management interventions
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Educate patients and their families about medical conditions and treatment options
Participate in patient triage and prioritize care based on urgency
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
Provide inpatient care
Help plan and coordinate surgery (medical, imaging, and pre-surgical evaluations)
Be the first-assistant in the operating room (setting up room, positioning, assisting, and closing)
Requirements:
Valid Physician Assistant license in TX
Willingness to live in Bryan/College Station
Genuine interest in outpatient and inpatient orthopedic surgery
Very comfortable with medical documentation via both dictation and EMR
Ability to triage patients effectively based on their medical needs
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Basic knowledge of physiology and medical terminology
Efficiency
Strong clinical skills
