Job Title: Payroll Accountant

Summary of Position:
The Payroll Accountant, under the direction of the Controller, is responsible for timely and accurate processing of multiple payrolls.
Job Responsibilities:
- Employee must adhere to all Policies & Procedures at all times
- Assist the HR and/or accounting department as needed
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls accurately within the HRIS/payroll system
- Ensure all required changes related to new hires, employee changes, terminations and payroll deductions are accurate before payroll is completed.
- Provide service to all employees regarding concerns with payroll or deductions.
- Complete any payroll related mailings, e.g. child support
- Work collaboratively with HR to resolve inquiries/issues related to HRIS/Payroll system.
- Maintain processes and audit trails for all payroll transactions, garnishments, etc.
- Process and maintain 401(k) and Cash Balance Plan transactions and records.
- Maintain paid time off liability and make appropriate entries into the time management or payroll system.
- Answer audit questions related to payroll and deductions.
- Maintain compliance with the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program.
- Work collaboratively with HR to ensure all inquiries from state unemployment agency are handled timely.
- Responsible for processing of Accounts Payable invoices.
- Payroll filing as needed.
- Perform other duties as required

Experience / Skill Requirements:
Minimum of two years payroll or Accounting experience. Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel. Prior experience with HRIS and/or payroll software is required.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Attendance / Work Schedule:
Maintaining and satisfying minimum attendance requirements is an essential function of this position, including working all full-time regular hours as established for this position and scheduled or emergency overtime. Full-time regular hours are defined as Monday through Friday, with after-hours or weekends as required. All employees in this job classification are required to satisfy this requirement. This job classification does not include "light duty" work or allow unpredictable or unrestricted absences.
