We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Medical Insurance Clerk to join our healthcare administration team. Duties
- Review and process healthcare insurance claims using billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Apply appropriate medical coding including, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10, and ICD coding to categorize diagnoses and procedures accurately.
- Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to facilitate smooth claim submission.
- Manage medical collections by following up on unpaid or denied claims with insurance companies or patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify billing details or resolve discrepancies related to medical records or coding.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, data entry, and record keeping related to billing activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical office administration with a focus on billing, coding, or insurance claims processing.
- Strong knowledge of health insurance policies, healthcare claims management, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with , CPT coding, ICD-10, ICD coding systems, EMR/EHR systems, and billing software platforms.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
- Prior experience working within healthcare claims management or medical collections is highly desirable.
