What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at South Texas Clinical Laboratory?
- Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory, lab equipment and adequate stocks of reagents.
- Must have the ability to interpret scientific data and understand the impact of the results on the business with minimal assistance from the Supervisor or other technicians.
- Basic analytical chemistry, including the preparation of reagents.
- Perform basic problem solving, trouble shooting of laboratory equipment.
- May assist in technician training.
- Must have the ability to independently run scientific, method improvement, or continuous improvement projects.
- Must be able to learn and perform calculations, troubleshoot analytical results and perform basic troubleshooting analysis of non-conformances.
- Must be able to identify unusual lab results and bring to the attention of the Lab Supervisor.
- Must be able to comprehend approved methods and initiate revisions.
- Must be able to learn, validate and implement new methods.
- Must meet High Complexity testing, requirements associates degree or higher in a science related field, with 6 hours of chemistry, 6 hours in biology, and 24 hours total in science related courses.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
