K–12 Core Content Teacher Job Description (Texas Certified) Position Title K–12 Core Content Teacher (Elementary and Secondary) Location: Dilley, Texas Organization: South Texas Center for Academic & Student Support a Division of Successful Practices Network (SPN) Schedule: Full-Time | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | Year-Round About SPN Successful Practices Network (SPN) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving outcomes for all students. We partner with schools, districts, state agencies, and other organizations providing education and education related support to implement innovative, research-based solutions that promote student success. SPN fosters inclusive, high-performing learning environments where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Position Summary The K–12 Core Content Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and supporting student academic achievement in accordance with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and district curriculum standards. This position may include teaching students in Elementary (Grades K–6) or Secondary (Grades 6–12) classrooms in one or more core academic areas including English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Teachers are expected to create a safe, engaging, and student-centered learning environment that promotes academic growth, critical thinking, collaboration, and college and career readiness. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong instructional practices, classroom management skills, and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instruction and Curriculum •Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with TEKS, district curriculum, and instructional goals •Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in assigned content area(s): oElementary Core Subjects (Grades K–6) oSecondary English Language Arts (ELA) oSecondary Mathematics oSecondary Science oSecondary Social Studies •Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, interventions, and technology tools to support student learning •Differentiate instruction to address varying academic levels, learning styles, language proficiency, and special education accommodations •Incorporate critical thinking, problem-solving, literacy, and collaborative learning opportunities into daily instruction Classroom Environment and Student Support •Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning •Implement effective classroom management techniques that support student engagement and appropriate behavior •Build positive relationships with students that encourage academic confidence, responsibility, and respect •Monitor student attendance, behavior, and academic progress and provide timely interventions when needed •Support the social, emotional, and developmental needs of students Assessment and Data Analysis •Assess student performance through formal and informal assessments •Maintain accurate and timely records of grades, attendance, and student progress •Analyze student achievement data to guide instructional decisions and improve outcomes •Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic progress Communication and Collaboration •Collaborate with teachers, instructional coaches, interventionists, counselors, and administrators to support student success •Maintain professional relationships with colleagues and contribute positively to campus culture Professional Responsibilities •Participate in required professional development and training opportunities •Maintain compliance with district policies, state regulations, and Texas educator standards •Demonstrate professionalism, ethical conduct, reliability, and accountability Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university •Valid Texas Teaching Certification appropriate for assigned grade level and subject area •Bilingual in Spanish (required) •ESL Certified or in process of obtaining certification •Ability to pass federal background check requirements •Knowledge of TEKS, curriculum development, and effective instructional practices •Strong classroom management and organizational skills •Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning platforms Preferred Qualifications •Experience teaching diverse student populations •Previous classroom teaching experience preferred •Ability to teach multiple subject areas or grade levels preferred Compensation & Benefits: •Salary $79,000 •Includes: •401(k) with employer match •$9000 yearly Lifestyle & Wellness Stipend (to be used at your discretion for health insurance premiums and travel costs) •We offer a generous paid time off package that includes 8 company holidays, two weeks of paid winter break, one week of paid spring break, two weeks of paid summer break, and 10 days of flexible vacation/sick leave •Optional Voluntary Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance available (100% employee-paid via payroll deduction) Additional Information This position is full-time and year-round.
