Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and treatments by preparing equipment and monitoring anesthesia
- Perform animal restraint and handling using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Conduct laboratory tests, prepare samples, and interpret basic results to aid in diagnosis
- Maintain accurate medical records, including pet histories, treatment plans, and lab reports
- Handle pet grooming, pet care routines, and kennel management to ensure animals are comfortable and well-cared for
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Assist with animal catheterization, IV placements, and other critical care procedures as needed
- Provide animal husbandry support including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status
- Support pet owners with pet care advice, behavioral training tips such as dog training, and basic pet grooming guidance
Requirements:
- Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary critical care practices
- Ability to handle dogs confidently with proper training in dog handling and restraint methods
- Strong understanding of aseptic techniques for surgical prep and laboratory work
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Certification or experience in veterinary technician roles
- Passion for pet care, animal welfare, and continuous learning in veterinary medicine
