JOB DESCRIPTION

As a South Tech Machine Technology Teacher, you will teach and support high school students as they explore careers in precision manufacturing. In this role, you will guide students in developing technical knowledge, hands-on skills, and safety practices aligned to industry standards. Using your experience, you will help students build confidence working with manual and CNC equipment while preparing them to earn industry-recognized credentials aligned to National Institute for Metalworking Skills standards.

In a modern lab setting, you will lead project-based learning in which students design, create, and problem-solve using computer-controlled technology, 3D printing, and CAD and MasterCAM software. By connecting instruction to real-world applications and your own industry experience, you will help students see what is possible and take meaningful steps toward careers and postsecondary pathways in manufacturing.

Experience and Education

• Six thousand (6,000) hours of closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years. This roughly equates to three (3) years of full-time experience; OR
• Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and five thousand (5,000) hours of closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years. This roughly equates to two and a half (2.5) years of full-time experience; OR
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university and four thousand (4,000) hours of closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years. This roughly equates to two (2) years of full-time experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Teacher certification is not required upon hire
• Apply for career and technical education certification through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and complete up to 18 college credit hours to obtain a Career and Technical Education Teaching Certificate; required

• $49,000 to $83,250/year based on experience and education

• 10-month school year (August to June)

Work Hours

• 7:10 AM to 2:40 PM, Monday through Friday
• Occasional evening or weekend hours for school-related events
