What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering Intern position at South Tahoe Public Utility District?
Under the direction, the Engineering Intern aids the project managers and engineering technicians on various engineering tasks.
This internship is being offered to college enrolled students, at the beginning and/or at completion of a collegiate level Civil Engineering program or closely related engineering or science field. The preferred start and end date would be dependent on your college schedule. This term is limited to 6 months or less. The shift expectation is 30-40 hours per week (with possibilities of overtime).
Educational requirements include current enrollment (at time of application) in or completion of a collegiate level Civil Engineering program, or closely related engineering or science field.
An emphasis in water or wastewater engineering is desired.
Experience
Knowledge and experience working with AutoCAD, Excel, and Word is required.
Surveying Skills And Experience With GIS Is Desired.
The position includes field and desk work, and requires attention to detail and accuracy, must possess strong computer skills and communication skills.
Proficiency Requirements

- Performs engineering calculations, provides permitting assistance, reviews submittals, collects and processes field data, and supporting construction project oversight.
