This role requires effective communication with patients and a commitment to ensuring their safety and comfort during procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms for patient examinations.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to obtain clear, usable images.
- Position patients and equipment, explain procedures, and ensure patients' comfort.
- Insert commands and data into the computer to document and specify scan sequences.
- Monitor video displays to adjust density or contrast as needed.
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Strong understanding of radiographic techniques and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Requirements
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in radiology from an accredited 2 year or 4 year college.
- ARRT certifiction
- A Mississippi license to practice radiography.
- Must be willing to day or night shift open for coverage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, and compassion.
- Good mathematical abilities and technical skills.
- Good organizational, time management, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
- The ability to lift heavy weights without assistance.
- Interpreting the orders provided by the physician or other prescribing medical professional.
- Explaining what will happen during the CT scan to patients.
- Positioning patients properly to take the necessary images.
- Administering IVs that contain contrast dyes to enhance imaging.
- Examining images to ensure they’re usable.
- Updating patient medical information
- Cleaning and maintaining CT scan equipment.
- Keeping inventory of CT scan supplies and making orders for supply restocks as required.
