Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating dump trucks and will be responsible for transporting materials to various job sites while ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of freight. This role requires a strong understanding of route driving, load management, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport materials such as gravel, sand, asphalt, and other construction materials to designated locations.
- Ensure the safe loading and unloading of materials, adhering to weight limits and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and materials transported.
- Follow designated routes while being flexible to adjust based on traffic conditions or job site requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations while operating the vehicle.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed, utilizing forklifts or other equipment when required.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for dump truck operation.
- Experience driving dump trucks or similar vehicles; capable of driving manual transmission.
- Knowledge of route driving and freight handling practices.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety protocols and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of loading/unloading materials and long hours on the road.
