Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in an outpatient clinic setting. The Medical Assistant will support healthcare providers in delivering exceptional care to patients across various specialties, including internal medicine, emergency medicine, and geriatrics.
Requirements:
- Work some evening shifts/No weekends.
hours, with per diem/on-call work:
Monday: 2pm-8pm (Mandatory)
Tuesday: 8:00 AM - 2pm
Wednesday: 2:00 PM - 8:00PM (Mandatory)
Thursday: 8:00 AM - 2pm
Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- At least 3-4 years of Medical office/Medical assistant experience REQUIRED.
- Medical terminology knowledge and patient interaction REQUIRED.
- EMR system experience preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.***
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Collect and document patient medical histories and vital signs.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Administer injections as directed by physicians.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment.
- Manage patient records using electronic health record systems.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate patient follow-ups.
- Ensure compliance with medical protocols and safety standards.
Skills
- Proficient in medical terminology relevant to outpatient, medical-surgical, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and geriatrics.
- Strong understanding of basic life support techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems is preferred.
