South Shore Technical High School anticipates an opening for a full time Metal Fabrication/Welding Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
Massachusetts educators holding Chapter 74 licensure in Welding and/or Metal Fabrication & Joining Technologies,
or industry professionals who meet licensure criteria 1-3 for Welding or 1-2 for Metal Fabrication & Joining Technologies are invited to apply.
Chapter 74 Preliminary Licensure in Welding 9-14 criteria:
1. High school diploma or equivalent;
2. 5 years of full time employment experience directly related to welding;
3. Possession of current national welding certification;
4. Passing score on the Vocational Technical Literacy Skills Test (VTEL) or Communication and Literacy Skills Test (MTEL); and
5. Passing score on the Vocational Educator Exam for welding (Written and Performance).
