About the Role
Contrans Flatbed Group – USA is seeking a Field Safety Trainer to support our fleet operations by training drivers, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across our terminals.
This role plays a critical part in reducing risk, improving driver performance, and maintaining compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations. If you enjoy working directly with drivers and leading impactful training sessions, this is a great opportunity to make a difference.
What You'll Be Doing
- Train drivers on DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and ELD usage
- Audit and maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files to ensure compliance
- Monitor driver activity and proactively address HOS and safety violations
- Analyze safety events and provide coaching to improve performance
- Assist with accident intake and documentation
- Support implementation of fleet safety policies and procedures
- Partner with operations and leadership to improve safety outcomes
- Travel to terminal locations as needed for training and compliance support
- Perform other related duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Team
Required Experience & Skills
- 3 years of experience in transportation safety, fleet operations, or DOT compliance
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, HOS, and CSA requirements
- Comfortable presenting to both small and large groups
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience training, coaching, or mentoring drivers
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
