Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles using advanced automotive diagnostic tools and schematics to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including powertrain, transmission, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
- Execute precise wheel alignments and suspension work to ensure vehicle stability and safety.
- Repair and replace components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive repair tools.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems efficiently.
- Service vehicles according to manufacturer specifications, including routine maintenance such as oil changes, brake repairs, and tire rotations.
- Diagnose ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features and calibrate sensors to ensure proper functionality.
- Collaborate with team members to estimate repairs accurately and communicate effectively with customers about their vehicle's condition and required services.
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced, adhering to dealership standards for documentation.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive repair techniques, industry standards, and manufacturer updates to continually enhance your skills.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Solid knowledge of automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, transmissions, and diesel engine repair.
- Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration, wheel alignment equipment, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other automotive service tools safely and effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues swiftly.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to clearly explain repairs and maintenance needs to clients.
- Experience with auto estimating software is a plus for accurate repair planning.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or other makes is advantageous but not required.
