Teacher Assistant Preschool

South Shore Early Education and Care is a program of the South Shore Community Action Council - a private non-profit providing multi-level program support on the South Shore, Cape and Islands, South Shore Early Education and Care in our Wareham location; seeks a full-time Teacher Assistant Preschool EEC candidate, 37.50 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.. No nights or weekends, salary commensurate with licenses, degree and experience, excellent employee benefits package, paid employee lunch break, in service training. Base pay rate $21.19/hr. with EEC certification, $21.31/hr. with CDA.

Core Duties: Develop and implement daily lessons & curriculum plans using creative curriculum. Assist the Teacher to create and maintain a safe and healthy physical environment that fosters the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of students. Perform assistant teaching activities that align with the EEC and Head Start Performance Standards regulations. Meal assistance, Bus Monitoring and other various activities as assigned.
Core Qualifications Commonwealth of Massachusetts EEC teacher certification required. Associate or Bachelor degree in early childhood preferred, CDA considered. Must be able to speak and understand English.
Minimum Requirements at employment:
· All candidates must undergo a CORI, DCF, SORI, and fingerprint background check; prior to beginning employment.
· Date of posting 11/24/25, deadline to apply 12/5/25; or until a suitable candidate is found.
· Valid MA state driver’s license.
· Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
