You’ll work closely with our dietary team to ensure safe food handling, attractive presentation, and a pleasant dining experience for all residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, and dietary restrictions.
- Ensure food is served at the correct temperature and in an appealing manner.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper storage and labeling.
- Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe kitchen environment.
- Coordinate with dietary staff to meet special requests or texture-modified diets.
- Monitor and record food and supply usage to avoid waste.
- Comply with state, federal, and facility regulations for skilled nursing dietary services.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior cooking experience in healthcare, senior living, or hospitality strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of special diets, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modified.
- Strong understanding of safe food handling practices.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
- ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 90 days (preferred).
