Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to evaluate extent of repairs needed, including auto body repair, frame alignment, suspension, and mechanical components
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using auto estimating software, ensuring transparency and clarity for customers and technicians
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain repair procedures, costs, and timelines while providing outstanding customer service
- Collaborate with technicians and management to prioritize repairs and coordinate workflow efficiently
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, or transmission work to enhance shop revenue and customer satisfaction
- Maintain comprehensive service writing records and ensure all documentation complies with company standards
- Assist with vehicle inspections related to mechanic experience such as engine diagnostics, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and alignments
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or background in auto service management preferred
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Experience in auto estimating software and service writing is essential
- Familiarity with automotive repair specialties including transmissions, oil changes, tire service, suspension work, brake repair, and alignment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and manage paperwork efficiently
- Mechanical knowledge combined with mechanic experience or automotive technician background is highly desirable
- Dealership experience or auto sales background is a plus but not required
