Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Assistant Custodian to join our team. As an Assistant Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities. Responsibilities:
- Maintain clean and orderly classrooms and hallways
- Dust mop and mop floors daily
- Empty and replace trash liners
- Clean and sanitize restrooms
- Respond to radio calls and custodial requests
- Coordinate floor scrubbing a minimum of three times per week
- Ensure classroom desks and surfaces remain clean
- Clean and maintain stairways
- Remove dust and debris from around doors, recycling containers, and pencil sharpeners
- Move wheeled furniture and equipment as needed for thorough cleaning
- Assist with setup and support for after-school activities and events
- Collaborate with fellow custodians to complete cleaning assignments efficiently
- Proven experience in custodial or commercial cleaning roles preferred
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment operation
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and standing for extended periods of time
