Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy principles, with experience in patient care across various settings including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, home health, and clinics. As a PTA, you will collaborate closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans, assist in rehabilitation processes, and promote optimal recovery outcomes for diverse patient populations. Your expertise in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology will be essential to delivering high-quality care that enhances patients' mobility and independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment interventions accurately and comprehensively.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility techniques, and injury prevention strategies to support ongoing recovery.
- Support discharge planning by preparing patients for transition to home or other care settings, ensuring continuity of care.
- Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment in accordance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Stay current with advancements in physiotherapy techniques and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance clinical skills.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program.
- Demonstrated experience working in inpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health environments.
- Proficiency in physiotherapy modalities including trigger point therapy and other manual therapy techniques.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and the principles of physiotherapy practice.
- Experience with care planning, discharge procedures, and working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with specialized areas such as orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of diverse backgrounds and healthcare professionals.
