POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is a working supervisory position that oversees the repair and maintenance of facilities maintenance functions including: building-related mechanical systems, grounds and irrigation systems, internal and external plant optics, lighting, fleet, backflow prevention, snow/ice removal, roadway maintenance, janitorial, waste management, event set up, and security. Determines maintenance and repair schedules for equipment, buildings, and site. Manages workflow and work quality to ensure proper maintenance of the plant site.

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Direct Reports: Facilities Maintenance Technicians, Maintenance Mechanics


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adheres to the requirements in the most current and applicable version of City of Englewood Administrative Policy Manual and/or the Englewood Employees Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Maintains satisfactory and harmonious relationships with the public and other employees; exhibits a high degree of professionalism, initiative, & tact on an ongoing and continual basis. Plans, organizes, schedules, supervises, and evaluates the work of the facilities maintenance staff within the division.
  • Accountable for onsite work of other crew members and tradesmen in lower classifications, and assists in ordering materials to facilitate the scheduled completion of assigned work.
  • Performs regular one on one’s with staff (biweekly). Documents staff successes and challenges. Accountable for performance management of the Facilities Maintenance staff, including technical proficiency and job conduct.
  • Recommends selection of assigned staff and provides for their training and professional development.
  • Participates as a member of the division’s leadership team. Contributes to the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Assists in the development of the division budget and monitors expenditures. Reviews equipment, material, and supply needs. Recommends expenditures and procurement.
  • Prioritizes and coordinates major corrective repair and preventive maintenance activities with the plant staff to ensure integrity of the SPR facility.
  • Contributes to and ensures the utilization of the plant computerized maintenance management and inventory system.
  • Tracks physical assets and establishes replacement schedules.
  • Screens work requests. Identifies scope of work necessary and ensures proper authorization. Reviews completed work orders for accurate documentation.
  • Monitors and ensures maintenance and repair quality to prolong the life of mechanical equipment, buildings, and infrastructure.
  • Assists in the procurement of materials, hardware, parts, chemicals, and manuals.
  • Completes reports and forms on manpower, supplies, purchasing, accident forms, hazardous condition reports, and facilities inspections.
  • Monitors quality and completion of contracted services and manages vendor relationships.
  • Establishes, maintains, and modifies annual written service programs and schedules for the facility.
  • Reviews MOP’s, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and 30,60, & 90% Engineering and project design as necessary.
  • Stays informed of all relevant technological advances for industrial equipment and machinery by networking, reading, and attending conferences/seminars.
  • Supports Safety Coordinator with the administration of the safety program; ensures safety programs, policies, and procedures are understood and followed by division personnel. Accountable for successful and timely completion of safety training programs. Ensures representative safety committee participation. Develops and coordinates training, monitors safety practices, and reviews safety incentive program participation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

Education, License, Certification, and Work Experience:

  • Education: High School Education or GED
  • Work Experience: Minimum of six years of facilities maintenance repair experience; and minimum of three years supervisory or lead experience.
  • Certifications and/or Licensures: None
  • Required Driver’s License: Valid Colorado driver’s license and a clear or acceptable MVR

SALARY RANGE

$73,600 - $110,400/Annual Pay Rate

This is a full time position.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in the wastewater treatment plant facilities. Works near moving mechanical parts; exposed to fumes, waterborne pathogens, airborne particles and various chemicals, some of which may be toxic. The employee is exposed to various conditions including noisy, slippery, hot and cold conditions.
